Valérie Beulen wins the ‘Stichting Beer impuls’ thesis prize 2019
On 14 May 2019 the jury of ‘Stichting Beer impuls’ awarded the 2019 thesis prize to author Valérie Beulen and the winning department, Maastricht University. She received this prize for her thesis entitled ‘De Hoge Raad en het beschermingsbereik voor particuliere medebezitters van gebrekkige roerende zaken: the damage lies where it falls’.

De scriptie bevat een onderzoek naar de wenselijkheid en voorzienbaarheid van een analoge toepassing van het beperkte personele beschermingsbereik van het Imagine-arrest op artikel 6:173 BW. Hierbij wordt tevens uitgebreid geanalyseerd wat alternatieve vergoedingssystemen in dit opzicht te bieden hebben.
Stichting Beer impuls, opgericht door Amsterdamse slachtofferadvocaten, stimuleert met deze landelijke prijs, voor het vierde jaar op rij, onder andere de ontwikkeling van jong talent met belangstelling voor het rechtsgebied van aansprakelijkheid en/of personenschade.
