Thomas Biermeyer and Marcus Meyer publish first report on corporate mobility in the EU
The first report of the ITEM/ICGI project by Thomas Biermeyer and Marcus Meyer on ‘Cross-Border Corporate Mobility in the European Union’ has now been published. The report provides a first overview of empirical findings on the topic of cross-border corporate mobility. This first report focuses particularly on cross-border mergers and cross-border seat transfers between 2013 and 2017.
ITEM’s Marcus Meyer and Thomas Biermeyer have been conducting a three-year project on cross-border corporate mobility in the European Union and the European Economic Area in collaboration with ITEM (Institute for Transnational and Euregional cross border cooperation and Mobility) and ICGI (Institute for Corporate Law, Governance and Innovation Policies) since March 2017, following a successful tender award by the ETUI and a Jean Monnet grant by the EU.
The first report on Cross-Border Mobility in the European Union, which focuses, in its first edition, particularly on cross-border mergers and cross-border seat transfers between 2013 and 2017, has now been published. The report is available via SSRN.
The Report shows that there is a robust number of cross-border mergers between the years 2013 and 2017. The Report also shows, amongst others, that cross-border seat transfers are taking place throughout the EU – even in EU Member States with no legislation currently in place.
