Greater choice and lower home prices, are better times ahead for first-time buyers?
The housing market has been severely strained for years. Starters on the hunt for their first home are suffering greatly as a result. The increased mortgage rates do not help. Still, the market is stabilizing, although not many more houses are being sold. CBS recently announced that the price decline since August is still continuing. What does this mean for buyers and sellers? Housing market researcher Linde Kattenberg of Maastricht University does not expect first-time buyers to be able to go bargain hunting yet.
