ERC grants for Anna Harris, Valentina Mazzucato and Maarten Vink
The European Research Council (ERC) has awarded three grants to FASoS researchers. Anna Harris receives the grant for her project ‘The birth of the digital doctor? A comparative anthropology of medical techno-perception’. Valentina Mazzucato receives the grant for her project 'Mobility trajectories of young lives: Life chances of transnational youths in Global South and North (MO-TRAYL)' and Maarten Vink for his project'Migrant Life Course and Legal Status Transition'.
Dr Harris receives an ERC Starting Grant. The grant, up to €1.5 million, will enable her to set up her own research team and pursue ground-breaking ideas. Professors Mazzucato and Vink receive an ERC Consolidator Grant. These highly prestigious individual subsidies of up to a maximum of €2 million will enable the researchers to further expand their scientific research and to hire new researchers for a period of five years.

Anna Harris has been awarded an ERC Consolidator Grant of €2 million for her project ‘The Upcycled Clinic: A global ethnography of material creativity in contemporary medicine’. The project addresses the escalating issue of clinical waste.
