Dutch research institutions and Elsevier agreed on a new extensive agreement
The Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU), the Dutch Federation of University Medical Centers (NFU), the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) and Elsevier announced that they have entered into a national agreement. Maastricht University and MUMC+ participate in this contract that runs until 2025.
The agreement includes read access to all publications in the scientific Elsevier journals and open access (OA) publication of peer-reviewed articles not only in subscription journals (hybrid) but also in multiple full OA journals. And affiliated researchers don’t pay article processing charges (APC) anymore. Also, Elsevier and partners will jointly develop innovative services for valuing and disseminating knowledge.
The VSNU has prepared an FAQ, and the contract has been made public on its website. The University Library will include all relevant information from the agreement and the FAQ on the Elsevier workflow page. The information about open access publishing in the individual journals is available via the OA Journal Browser and will be updated for the new agreement this week.
