Mieke Jans (M.J.)
Mieke Jans is part-time Associate Professor in the Accounting Information Management department at Maastricht University (School of Business Economics). Her research interests span different areas, creating synergies between the fields of Accounting, Business Process Management, and Information Systems. She has a focus on Audit Analytics, with an emphasis on process mining in the context of auditing financial statements and published numerous articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. Mieke leads the Scientific Research Community on Process Mining, a Flemish (Belgium) initiative to foster international collaboration on scientific research on this particular topic. She is also member of the Steering Committee of the IEEE Task Force on Process Mining and serves the (Accounting) Information Systems research community by acting as reviewer and editorial board member of various journals. Mieke has provided executive trainings and guest lectures on Process Mining in Auditing for ten years now, both on a national and global level.
