Hanne Zimmermann (H.M.L.)

I am an interdisciplinary social scientist and mixed-methods researcher with strong affinity in the field of health psychology, public health and behavior change. In all my work, I always strive to combine research, policy and practice to make impact that goes beyond the academic environment alone. In addition, I aim to promote the visibility of inclusivity and diversity in research. As such, my work is strongly informed by principles of participatory research and is carried out in close collaboration with target groups, public health professionals and policy makers. I apply this mainly in the field of sexual health and access to healthcare among different marginalized groups such as young people, men who have sex with men (MSM), sex workers, people with a migrant background and trans people. Furthermore, I have ongoing structural research collaborations with the public health service (GGD) Amsterdam and knowledge institute Soa Aids Nederland.
