"Analyzing Optical Performance of Natural and lntraocular Lenses in Asian-Indian eyes"

Recent advances in eye surgery have significantly improved vision, quality of life, and patient care. Our study found that LASIK surgery provides post-operative vision and focusing ability closest to normal eyes. Among biometers, the Lenstar 900 showed the most consistent results. For presbyopia (difficulty focusing near objects due to aging) and after cataract surgery with presbyopic lenses, adjusting the aberration profile or adding cylindrical defocus enhanced near and intermediate vision without affecting the distance vision. Orienting the intraocular lens (IOL) vertically or using a support ring (CTR) improved its stability, reducing early post-surgery lens rotation. Using advanced imaging (Polarization-Sensitive OCT), we confirmed no significant changes in retinal structure after cataract surgery when performed by an experienced surgeon, showcasing the procedure’s safety. These innovations improve outcomes, with faster recovery and greater patient satisfaction.
