"Are we walking or just talking? Enhancing relatonship-centered care in nursing homes"
To provide relationship-centered care in nursing homes, open conversations and joint quality improvements with residents, families, and care staff are needed. The work environment plays a crucial role in achieving this. Leaders who promote collaboration without hierarchy and have a clear care vision positively impact relationship-centered care. Good teamwork, job satisfaction, and development opportunities for care staff also strengthen this process.
Stories, collected with the "Connecting Conversations" method, provide valuable insights to provide relationship-centered care. Additionally, hybrid learning environments offer promising opportunities to train future care professionals to provide relationship-centered care. To implement
relationship-centered care in practice, close collaboration between the care triad (resident, family, care professional) is crucial.
