Film & Talk: There is a Place on Earth
There is a Place on Earth is about the role of artists in wilderness conservation. The documentary takes us on a poetic journey around the world, where we meet artists who show great commitment to the environment in their extremely creative work. In the process, we experience a unique, intuitive connection to the wild – and feel the necessity to protect it. In order to make the film, interviews were held with both artists and conservationists, in Portugal, India, the USA, France, Canada, Hawaii, South Africa and the Netherlands.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Ellen van den Honert.
Ellen van den Honert studied Political Science at the University of Amsterdam. She has worked internationally as a music teacher, project manager and entrepreneur, while also pursuing a career as a songwriter and performing artist. In 2015, Ellen founded the Wild About Music Foundation, which is committed to promoting the synergy between art and conservation. This led to the production of her first feature documentary, There Is A Place On Earth, in which she explores the role of artists in wilderness conservation on a beautiful and poetic journey around the world.
