Environmental ambitions vs economic realities – two case studies from Limburg
Based on two recent real-life events, we would like to explore in groups what the positive and negative (economic) impacts are for society of various new economic activities. Specifically, we will zoom in on two conflicting perspectives: the primary manufacturers vs. environmental organisations & local citizens.
Case 1 - Decline of landscape due to primary economic activity (‘verdozing’)
Case 2 - Global impact of electric vehicle production at the cost of a local forest clearing
