This online one-on-one course is designed for beginners with no previous knowledge of Spanish. It consists of eight sessions, in which you combine oral interaction with a teacher and independent study to improve your language skills. The online self-study component is supported by effective language training platform Babbel.com and bespoke web-based material and interactive written/oral tasks. The focus is mainly on developing speaking and listening skills.

The schedule will be determined in consultation with the teacher. The course will be held via Teams. During the introduction session, the teacher will explain in detail how the course works and will give you the opportunity to indicate your availability for
the oral sessions.

Book an intake well in advance of the course start date. This will make it easier to schedule the appointment and increase your chances of securing a place in the course of your choice.
Certificate
After completing the course requirements, you will receive a certificate of participation by post. To be eligible for a certificate, you must have attended all 8 sessions and passed both the written and oral exams. The written exams are administered at the Language Centre for students who are taking this course as part of their UM curriculum. For other participants, the details of the exam will be determined in consultation.
To receive the credits on your diploma, you must submit a request to your examination board. Whether these credits are awarded depends on your faculty.
