Ciska Hoving (C.)
Ciska Hoving works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Promotion, specializing in Health Communication in Health Care settings. Her research focuses on improving the communication between patients or clients and their health care providers, including facilitating shared and informed decision-making processes and eHealth application to support this communication. She teaches on both Bachelor and Master level regarding lifestyle communication, qualitative research application and scientific reporting.
Expertises
My interest focuses on communication about health and health behaviours (e.g. smoking, alcohol & dietary consumption patterns) between patients & health professionals and in health care in general. I aim to improve such communication by means of psychological and organisational interventions (such a computer tailoring programmes). Additionally, I am also interested in Informed and Shared Decision Making processes and Adherence to both lifestyle and medical regimens.
