Research profile
Development of new food products and ingredients that can trigger satiety and ideally help on weight control is the main focus of my current research.
Several ingredients have been found to be able to trigger physiological responses in the gut that activates the so called 'ileal-brake'. This feedback mechanism sends strong satiation signals that stop food intake.
Integration of this knowledge in the development of new food products is key to find new and potentially effective means of control for food intake that can aid in the management of obesity and overweight to ease the interventions and the burden of other treatments in that people.
