Zoë Rivas Zanello, MA Arts and Heritage
Zoë was born in England but raised in Italy. She has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Trieste in Italy, and she decided to come to Maastricht for a Pre-master’s programme in Arts and Heritage followed by the master's programme.
“I’ve always been interested in arts, even when I was still in school. I decided to follow my passion and applied for this master’s programme. I had been to the Netherlands some years ago. What fascinated me was the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, and the way people had meetings in the workplace. It all looked very informal, contrary to Italy where everything is so formal, also in the academic environment. I wanted to experience that for myself. I love the European approach and the multidisciplinary character of the programme. The combination of the academic and competitive level with the friendly, open, and collaborative atmosphere is unique. After my graduation, I would like to work in a contemporary arts field as a project manager or educator and in the future as a curator. Perhaps in London, as in the UK the museums and institutions are very independent and pioneering.”
