Walter Jansen (W.)
Walter Jansen (Maastricht, 1982) is Coordinator Education Innovation at EDLAB (UM). Before his current position Walter has been a tutor in the European Studies BA programme at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at UM. He has furthermore worked at the UM-India office in Bangalore, India for one year where he has been involved in student recruitment and the facilitation of research collaboration. On 1 April 2015, EDLAB (the UM institute for Education Innovation) has been installed and since then Walter coordinates UM-wide education innovation projects.
Walter joined the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (UM) as a Junior Lecturer in 2011 and functions as a tutor in the main political, cultural and historical modules of the Bachelor European Studies (see Education tab for details).
Before joining FASOS, between 2010-2011, Walter worked in Bangalore, India as an Executive Training and Development for the Maastricht Education and Research Centre (MERC). His core duties involved student recruitment and the further development of MERC's network in India. He has furthermore worked as an assistant to the director at UNU-MERIT (United Nations University research institute) and assisted in setting-up the Maastricht University Campus in Brussels.
Walter holds a Master of Arts in European Studies - External Relations from Maastricht University (2008). He furthermore obtained two Bachelor's degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Maastricht University (2007) and a Bachelor's degree in Communication-Management from Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (2003).
