Disability Support

For whom is this relevant?
For those who are (going to be) a student at Maastricht University and have a physical, psychological, and/or sensory disability, a chronic disease or other condition such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or diabetes. And who want to use facilities to make studying with their disability or chronic disease easier.

Examples of facilities

  • Extra exam time (25% up to 30 minutes maximum)
  • Smaller exam room
  • Reading aloud software

Request facilities
If you would like to be eligible for facilities, it is important to contact Disability Support as soon as possible. Please send an email to disability@maastrichtuniversity.nl in which you indicate which facilities you would like to make use of (see the website where possible facilities are mentioned). To be able to arrange facilities, Disability Support requires from you a colour scan from the original medical statement or a dyslexia statement including a psycho-diagnostic report (in English or in Dutch).

UM ‘Profileringsfonds’ arrangement / Financial support / Study delay
In case of (possible) study delay due to circumstances ('force majeur'), such as illness, family circumstances, pregnancy or disability, you might be eligible for financial support from the UM 'Profileringsfonds'. Please be informed that you have to contact a student adviser within two months of the special personal circumstance occurring. For more information see: Profileringsfonds.
