Therefore there will be no specific focus on external funded projects. 3. Audit updates DS reported that since the last meeting 12 further projects have been audited. Response rates have improved with follow-up from CAPHRI administration. One researcher approached DS asking for project to be audited. The Committee agreed that this proactive approach should be encouraged among researchers. DS explained that he has collated information about the number of audit requests sent, replies received and audits conducted for the last four years to share with the CAPHRI external evaluation panel BW asked what issues occur in the audits and the issue of logbooks came up. DS said that most projects only keep an informal logbook consisting of minutes of meetings. MS suggested that logbook phrasing should be changed on QAC webpages stating that minutes can also serve as a log book. BP suggested that the advice should be that decisions are documented but that any pastoral/ personal notes should be able to be redacted in …

In addition, multivariate analyses will assess associations of genetic variants, defined as "at risk" BER genotype, with exposure (obesogenic environment) and effect data (obese phenotype). These data will subsequently be confirmed in a separate population. This research will give crucial new insights in the role of DNA repair in the development of obesity and …

- fpn_csc_benedict_poser_2.pdf (370.48 KB, PDF)… Project leader: Benedikt A Poser, PhD Function: Assistant Professor, designated PI MRI Methods Collaborators: MR methods group, FPN Proposal (250 words): Introduction: Ultra-high MRI (≥7T) has become a pivotal technology in studying the brain, with many new insights continuously advancing our understanding of brain function, disease progression or new early biomarkers for prevention. This year, FDA and CE approval of the first commercial 7T human MRI paved the way for clinical use. While these most advanced MRI machines bring enormous potential for imaging at unprecedented resolution, contrast or speed, they also remain the most sensitive to imperfections in the magnetic field, the scanner hardware itself, motion, or field fluctuations caused by the patient inside – this severely limits practically attainable performance. This problem is well-recognised with very active research going into several approaches. The most …

Though many solutions are proposed, only a few are both realistic and effective in a sense that these measures can indeed reduce emissions to zero assuming existing or theoretically viable technologies. Unrealistic measures are improved jet-aircraft efficiency improvements, battery-electric flight, and biofuels. Ineffective measures range from more efficient … society is willing to reserve for aviation. Academics travel more than average employees, even though many academics are very aware of the evolving climate crisis.
