Samantha Renssen (S.)

Samantha Renssen is an assistant professor of Corporate Law and Insolvency Law at Maastricht University. She studied a Master in Labour and Corporate Law in Maastricht as well. In 2013, she graduated cum laude. After her studies, Samantha started to write her PhD about turbo-liquidations of Dutch private limited liability companies. She successfully defended her PhD in 2015.

Nowadays, Samantha’s research still focusses on liquidation (and restructuring) of companies. She publishes on a regular basis. Furthermore, she is a member of the editorial board of the Tijdschrift voor Vennootschapsrecht, Rechtspersonenrecht en Ondernemingsbestuur, of HERO and of INS-Updates. Besides, Samantha works for LexQuire as an in-house legal research associate.

 

Education wise, Samantha coordinates the Master courses Ondernemingsrecht and Insolventierecht. She also is the coordinator of the courses Ondernemingsrecht and Faillissementsrecht in the Dutch Bachelor programme. Besides, Samantha is a visiting assistant professor at the China- EU School of Law. For the FHR Institute for Higher Education in Paramaribo, she has helped to develop a Master in Business Law. 

At the Faculty of Law of Maastricht University, Samantha is a member of the Educational Programme Committee of Tax Law. Furthermore, she is the education planner of the Private Law department. Lastly, Samantha is the coordinator of the Master Dutch Law, which consists of four master programmes.
