Microbial Profiling

Microbial profiling supports clinical research by providing the microbiome and multi-omics expertise needed to generate robust, clinically relevant data from patient samples. It helps researchers connect microbial composition and function to disease mechanisms, biomarkers, and treatment response.

Euregional Microbiome Centre

Cross-Border Collaboration for Microbiome Innovation

The Euregional Microbiome Centre unites experts in microbiome research from NUTRIM, Maastricht University (UM) and Maastricht University Medical Centre+ (UMC+), the University of Liège, and Uniklinik RWTH Aachen.

The Euregional Microbiome Centre enables the bundling of complementary knowledge and infrastructure across borders. This unique step toward a new approach to medicine will facilitate prevention, nutrition-based interventions, and personalised treatment for a wide range of conditions.

MosaBiome

MosaBiome is the microbiome research facility of Maastricht University and MUMC+, at the Department of Medical Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, and Infection Prevention (MMI). MosaBiome supports in high-quality microbiome research from study design and grant support to sequencing, bioinformatic and statistical analysis, and publication-ready reporting.

MosaBiome combines both academic and practical expertise across every stage of microbiome research. As a non-profit academic service, MosaBiome helps researchers and partners turn microbiome data into robust, clinically relevant insights.
