Research projects
- Ethics and Alterity through Cognitive Dissonance: Teaching ethics in digital business through sustained encounter with difference, drawing on Levinas, Care Ethics, and non-Western philosophical traditions.
- Pedagogy of the Invisible Teacher: Teaching through structure, withdrawal, and strategic absence, developed across fourteen years in the United World Colleges and articulated in ongoing pedagogical writing.
- Mathematics Education for Diverse Learners: Designing mathematics teaching that reaches across varied cognitive styles and starting points, from learners with dyscalculia and mathematics anxiety to students encountering advanced topics for the first time.
- Generative AI in Higher Education: Developing and teaching the faculty's first course on generative AI, and thinking critically about what AI does to academic formation and the conditions of intellectual life.
- Mathematical Research: Active work in harmonic analysis on symmetric spaces, with parallel interests in representation theory and Algebraic geometry and homotopy theory.
- Fiction as Pedagogical Companion: Writing fiction that sits alongside my teaching, most recently the novella The Paper Garden, composed to let students engage with the ethics course's questions in a different register.
