BridgeEurope Maastricht organises a discussion workshop on the idea of a common European army. Each participant gets to represent their viewpoints in a simulation of a European Council meeting by representing different European member states.

This workshop is funded by a 2021 YERUN Research Mobility Award and the Globalisation and Law Network. 

Revisiting judicial independence, impartiality and accountability in the context of emerging European standards with a focus on judicial appointments and the public role of judges.

This workshop will focus on two research questions. First, how selected international adjudicative bodies balance (a) individual rights with the general interest and (b) conflicting rights. Second, what is the role of scientific evidence in the decisions of the studied international adjudicators...
