D. Papathanasiou

Danai is a Teaching Fellow based in the Department of Literature and Arts of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS). 

She completed her Bachelor Studies in Archaeology and History of Art at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with minors in Hellenistic Numismatics, Byzantine Iconography and Sepharadite Jewish History and Culture. 

She graduated cum Laude from the Masters Progam Arts and Heritage: Policy, Management and Education. Danai specialised in Culture and Economy, with a focus on Urban Sociology. She wrote her thesis on the Aesthetics of Gentrification and the commodification of sustainability. 

She has worked as a researcher at Waag (Amsterdam) on fair and open data and urban mobility. https://casestudies.urbanite-project.eu/ 

Danai's research interests include urban sociology, inequalities in the urban sphere, urban imaginaries and alternative economic systems. She is interested in precarity and the creative sector.
