Don't mail, share!

That way you have more control over who has access to the information.
There are many ways to share files, but are you sharing them securely?
Free tools sound attractive, but are often not secure.

Secure file sharing can be done in several ways:

  • MSTeams: Use Teams to share files with colleagues within UM.
Sharing files via Teams is a secure way of exchanging data if done correctly.
If you do not want to take any risk due to confidentiality, consider encrypting
confidential files before sharing them with a UM colleague via Teams and
sending the intended recipient the key (password) via another communication channel.
  • SURFfilesender:  Need to share (large) files with people outside UM.
Use SURFfilesender to do this securely and encrypted. With SURFfilesender, you can
send large files, such as research data, with confidence.
The files are stored in the Netherlands. Encryption provides extra security.
More information on SURFfilesender can be found here

Plasma reactors produce greener hydrogen

  • Sense the Science

Compress the electrical energy from 2-3 large wind turbines and methane into a one-meter-long tube, and you’ll produce green hydrogen and other feedstocks for the chemical industry, all without releasing any CO2. Read about green hydrogen research at Maastricht University!
