Can Member States prohibit pupils from attending education abroad, simply on the belief that it might hamper the integration of the children into society? But what of possible justification grounds?

On 1 July 2017, Prof. Teun Dekker became the first Professor in Liberal Arts and Sciences Education in Europe. His main duties will be creating public awareness of Liberal Arts in the Netherlands and abroad, and conducting research on Liberal Arts education in the European context as well as its social, political and educational significance.

We met with Prof. Dekker to get a better understanding of his professorship and his vision on what Liberal Arts and Sciences is and why it is important.

On Friday 29^th of September 2017, Dr. Kirchberger came to our Law Faculty to discuss this topic and analyse how open design can be shared and protected at the same time.

A 83-year-old man suffered severe brain damage due to a fall in a bank. The man was brought to a hospital where he died one week later. A medical report then showed that the lack of assistance did not (even partly) contribute to the man’s unfortunate death. Still, the refusal to help had certain consequences for three of the four ‘bystanders’.
