Introduction period
There are two different programmes during the introduction period:
- INKOM (18 up and until 21 August 2025)
- Faculty introduction (you will be informed of the exact dates by your faculty)
Both series of introduction days are important!
The INKOM: the ultimate start to your student life in Maastricht!
As a new student, you don't want to miss the INKOM! This is the official introduction week of Maastricht University, Zuyd University of Applied Sciences and VISTA college. Every year, over 3,600 new students discover the city together and start friendships for life during this week.
From 18 to 21 August 2025, Maastricht will transform into a vibrant decor full of fun, inspiring and cultural activities, unforgettable parties and meetings. During this week, you will get to know the many opportunities that make student life here so unique: from fun student, study and sports associations to cultural hotspots and the best events.
What to expect? A mix of information markets, sports challenges, cultural outings, exciting festivals and parties. You will be experiencing all of this together with your own group, guided by enthusiastic mentors.
In short: the INKOM is the perfect kickstart to your adventure as a student in Maastricht. Make sure you are there and register quickly via http://www.inkom.nl - because full = full!

Faculty introduction
This introduction relates to your programme of study and is organised by your faculty.
You will meet your study programme coordinator and your fellow students, visit different UM locations and get introduced to the study associations.
Your faculty will send an invitation for this introduction; participation is compulsory.
