Co-creation: the student voice in education at UM
This project explores ways to integrate the student voice into the educational process. At its core, it examines how co-creation—where students actively collaborate with educators to shape their own learning experience —can expand beyond the common formats of PBL.
By focusing on co-creation practices that push the boundaries of our classroom dynamics, the project seeks to empower students as active contributors to their education and teachers to incorporate the students' perspective. This approach aligns with broader movements toward more inclusive curricula, promoting diverse perspectives, and enhancing student well-being and resilience in academic environments.
The project is gathering insights from co-creation efforts within and beyond the UM. These insights are collected through in-depth interviews with faculty staff, as well as a review of successful practices from other universities. By analysing co-creation practices, the project aims to produce practical, adaptable steps that teaching staff can use to embed co-creation more deeply in their courses and curricula.
The impact of this project is twofold: it strengthens the engagement of both staff and students and fosters a collaborative culture where diverse perspectives can thrive. By sharing insights through professional development sessions, the project encourages teaching staff to rethink traditional roles and consider the potential of co-creation, leading to a more inclusive and inspiring learning environment.
