Institute for European History

The Leibniz Institute for European History in Mainz (Germany) has stipends that are intended for young PhD students and postdocs in the field of history. This allows them to do literature and archive research at this institute.

Conditions

 At least a Masters level degree in history or another discipline which works historically.
 Research project as from 6 months till 12 months.
 Language skills: proficiency in English and a sufficient command of German to participate in discussions at the Institute.
 Living and working in the Institute’s building in Mainz.

Scholarship for PhD

  • Duration of scholarship: a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months.
  • €1200 per month
