Video report on the EDview symposium
Held on 23 October, the closing EDview Symposium was attended by more than two hundred staff and students from all faculties. Sophie Vanhoonacker, Dean of FASoS, gave a first reaction to the EDview findings on behalf of the management team. Rector Magnificus Rianne Letschert spoke the closing words.
Executive Board sets up steering group
One of the conclusions of the EDview project is that more variation is needed in our traditional ‘seven-step approach’, in order to shape our Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in the best possible way. The Executive Board is looking forward to implementing the project’s recommendations in the coming period together with students and staff. A steering group has been set up for this purpose under the direction of Prof. Erik Driessen, chair of the department of Educational Development and Research at FHML.
On the EDlab website all relevant documents can be downloaded. These include a Position Paper on the future of education at UM (with a summary), a comprehensive overview of 'Do's, Don'ts and Do not Knows' of educational improvement and all the details of EDview’s research methods, its participants and the project team. The speech of Sophie Vanhoonacker and the closing words of Rianne Letschert can also be found here.
