Europa, Europa: op weg naar de verkiezingen van mei 2019
The newest edition of the Montesquieu reeks no° 12 "Europa, Europa: Op weg naar de verkiezingen van mei 2019" ("Europe, Europe: on the way to the May 2019 elections") focusses on the state of democracy in the EU - right on time before the European Parliament elections between 23 and 26 May.
The contributions in the collection - which include contributions by MI fellows Aalt-Willem Heringa, Prashant Sabharwal and Thu Nguyen - reflect on a variety of European issues such as representative democracy in the EU and its member states, the impact of Brexit and Euroscepticism on EU integration, and the need to reconcile legitimacy and effectiveness in EU decision-making. They are written in both Dutch and English.
