Mo Chen

Mo Chen holds a Master in Environmental Sociology (2015), obtained from Ocean University of China. In general, he is interested in the relationship between human society and ocean. During his master program, he focused on the research area of maritime society in China.

About

His research topics include the change of social structure in coastal society as well as the development of China marine public service. He also participated in the national investigation of 2013 Chinese Social Survey (CSS), working as draughtsman and interviewer.

Before joining ICIS, he worked at Radboud University. He has published two articles in good quality journals and finished two manuscripts. He was awarded several scholarships including the national scholarship for postgraduate before. He also acquired a series of titles such as “Excellent Postgraduate” previously.

His research project is about the maritime disasters in China. More specifically, he looks at how the maritime disasters such as (Bohai Bay Oil Spill, 2011) influenced governmental behavior, public attitude, media discussion, and so forth.
