Martijn Boussé (M.)
I am an Assistant Professor at Maastricht University in the Department of Advanced Computing Sciences (DACS) where I am the coordinator of the Computing Sciences Education (CSE) research theme, which aims to enhance education through artificial intelligence and data science. I completed my PhD in 2019 at KU Leuven, Belgium.
I focus on two major research lines:
- Tensor-based signal processing methods and applications such as blind source separation, blind system identification, and recurrence plots.
- Scalable and innovative assessment design in STEM such as AI-based teaching assistants and continuous assessment design.
I have various other roles at the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) and Maastricht University (UM):
- I am a trainer for the University Teaching Qualification at the Faculty of Science and Engineering where I teach new staff about the university's vision on Teaching and Learning.
- I am a member of the Faculty Council, providing a bridge between the faculty board, staff, and students.
- I am the coordinator of the FSE Presenting Club, which is part of the FSE Stem Graduate School, where I organize workshops and community events on effective communication.
- I am the FSE representative on the EDLAB Education Research Sounding Board, which aims to enhance inter-faculty connections and create coherence in education research.
