International Student Helpdesk - For help with Dutch practicalities

Are you an international student confronted with challenges you cannot solve without the help of a professional, Dutch speaker?

The International Student Helpdesk (ISH) is here to help!

Practical help offered online
The Student Services Centre (SSC) provides a lot of useful information online, and you can find practical information on the mymaastricht portal (the guide for every international student new to Maastricht). Very helpful is for example the blog about the top 9 things to do before arrival

Personal help
However, sometimes you need more help. Have you received a letter or an invoice in Dutch and cannot find the answers to your questions online? Need to make a phone call to a Dutch institution? Can’t figure out what information is required for an application? Or just want some personal help in finding a solution to your problem?

International students can get in touch with the International Student Helpdesk (ISH) for all these sorts of practical issues, and more, such as Dutch housing benefits, municipal taxes, DigiD, the public transport card and student loans. They can also help you to organise your (healthcare) insurance, apply for Government benefits, reading letters in Dutch, fill out official forms and much more!
