FEM LUNCH PRESENTS

Where to put Trans Femmes in Feminism

Welcome to another FEM Lunch! On Tuesday 14 December, we delve into the topic of trans femmes and feminism together with Mathilde Kennis. It is fair to say our society is going through a gender revolution. Gender is currently being constructed as a non-binary concept that is detached from ‘biological sex’. Some feminists – sometimes referred to as TERFs (trans-exclusionary radical feminists) – claim that this gender revolution, where we ‘erase’ biological sex, puts cisgender women steps back in terms of emancipation and safety.

Are we indeed unjustly erasing sex differences? Or is there room for trans women and genderqueer individuals in feminism? (Spoiler: yes, there is.)

FEM would like to stress that this online event is open to everyone interested in the topic, regardless of their gender identity or expression. The option to enable subtitles in this Zoom meeting is on.

Please, register via the following link on Zoom.
