In this webinar, speaker Aincre Evans (UCM) will provide concrete recommendations as to how such decolonizing practices can be implemented on a class, course and institutional level. He will discuss where the need for decolonizing the curriculum arises and will clarify the different components (listed below), which are involved in achieving this in your educational practices:
1. Decolonization as ‘Reconstruction’ and ‘Deconstruction’.
2. From positive representation to diverse representations
3. Storytelling as a decolonial strategy
4. Gurminder Bhambra’s ‘Connected Sociologies’
The presentation is open to all colleagues at UM and other YUFE European Universities and will be followed by a Q&A, moderated by a chair.
