"The Implementation of EHealth in Dementia Care: Lessons learned"

Informal caregivers play a crucial role in providing care for people with dementia. While informal caregiving has been shown to have some positive effects, it has also been shown to pose a significant burden on caregivers’ well-being. eHealth (the use of the internet to improve health outcomes) can help support caregivers of people with dementia at a distance. Examples of eHealth for dementia care include apps to organize care and online courses. Unfortunately, few of these effective eHealth research projects make their way into practice. The results of this thesis helped gain insight into the factors that influence their implementation. This will in turn realize the intended benefits for caregivers, as well as aid the more efficient and targeted development of eHealth for dementia caregiving in the future.
