"Public Health Graduates in the United States: Employment Outcomes and Employer Demand"
A trained public health workforce is considered one of the Ten Essential Public Health Operations by the World Health Organization. Individuals who receive university degrees in public health are uniquely qualified to fill important roles in the workforce. But are graduates with public health degrees actually entering the workforce? Which employers are seeking to hire them? This dissertation aims to explore and identify the employment outcomes of public health graduates in the United States, as well as the employer demands for organizations seeking to hire them. This research includes the largest data collection on employment outcomes of public health graduates in the United States in more than thirty years; the first-ever large-scale analysis of job postings from employers seeking these graduates; and recommendations to ensure that a potential mismatch between graduates and the workforce can be resolved.
