Modern Leadership in the Middle East
Studium Generale | Lecture
What can we learn about leadership in the Middle East by looking through the lens of ‘charisma and authority’? In tonight’s lecture, Arabist Petra Stienen, who has extensive experience in the Middle East as a diplomat and as an advisor to a number of NGOs on human rights and refugees, will talk about the challenges of leadership in this region. Stienen will look at a number of formal and informal leaders in politics, business and culture in the Arab world. Is dictatorship indeed the future in this region or are other types of leadership possible as well?
