FHML bachelor's introduction - 2018

When you start your studies at the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences (FHML), you will be invited to participate in the student orientation programme in August. The programme consists of a general orientation week (INKOM ) followed by an introduction to the faculty.

As a new student in a strange city, you will encounter a lot of unfamiliar information. How do things work at this university, where is the library, what is the city of Maastricht like and who are my fellow students? These are just a few of the things you will have to cope with. The Faculty Introduction (of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences = FHML) is intended to give you a better idea of the various aspects of studying at Maastricht University and the FHML.

The Faculty Introduction is mandatory for all students.

Faculty introduction programme per bachelor's

The Faculty Introduction is an introduction to studying at our faculty. During the introduction day you will meet your fellow students, you will receive information about your study, the faculty organisation, the building in which you will be studying, the teaching system, etcetera.
At the end of the day, there is a welcome party with a DJ and food trucks. You can relax on the grass, while grabbing something to eat and to drink, while chatting or dancing with other first-year students and teachers. You must register for this party (€ 5 for participation) but you'll get four drink vouchers and four food vouchers in return.

Study associations and their introduction activities

At the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, all bachelor’s programmes have their own study association. As a member of a study association everything is possible, but nothing is mandatory.

At our study associations you can:

enjoy lots of activities with your fellow students;
receive discount on books and study materials;
get exam training and study support;
attend lectures and workshops focused on your study programme and career;
help to improve the educational system.

Most study associations also organise an introduction camp and/or another introduction activity for new students (apart from the Faculty Introduction). More information about these camps and activities is available via the following links:
