European Meeting on Human Fear Conditioning (EMHFC)

-

Welcome!

In a world of machine learning, neural networks, algorithms, and large language models it is perhaps more important than ever to open up the black box of prediction and understand causal relationships. Developing causal theories and systematic experimentation remain one of the foremost tools to achieve this. As such, our core business of the fear conditioning community is likely to remain relevant for the years to come.

In this 16th edition of the European Meeting on Human Fear Conditioning (EMHFC) we want to continue the tradition of offering the floor to young researchers to present their findings through oral presentations and posters. Something new this year that we would like to try is to foster open discussion about ongoing debates within the field. Therefore, we have added two round table discussions to the program. Finally, of course, social activities are integral to the EMHFC meeting. Therefore, we have made sure to plan social activities during the evenings.

We hope that this year’s meeting will be as inspiring as the previous years. Welcome to Egmond aan Zee and EMHFC 2025!
