Career Day

Change jobs for a day

On Career Day (Thursday 14 November 2019) Maastricht University (UM) welcomes employees from other organisations to get an idea of what working at UM is like. In return, UM staff will be able to explore other organisations on the same day.

Why participate?

Career Day offers the perfect opportunity to get to know another organisation or company and embrace new ideas in an exciting and energetic way. You will be able to share knowledge, do some networking, discover possible new steps in your career, or take a fresh look at your own job and work environment at UM.

Baanschakel, a partnership between Schakel and Baandomein, initiated this career experience day. Schakel and Baandomein are networking organisations that provide access to a regional pool of vacancies, work experience placements and long-term (collaboration) projects.

At UM’s request, a number of bilingual/English opportunities will be available this year, even though the main language on Baanschakel’s website is Dutch for the time being.

Offer a programme

UM hosts are free to offer their guests a programme as they see fit. Our guests will be interested in the nature of our work activities, our methods, staff, environment, atmosphere, etc.

Would you like to welcome someone to your daily routine on Thursday 14 November? Please contact UM’s Staff Career Centre by emailing Marlou Tijssens: marlou.tijssens@maastrichtuniversity.nl. You can also contact her if you are interested in visiting another organisation. For every opening we provide, we can send one UM staff member on their personal adventure outside UM.
