10 Years Microscopy CORE Lab
MCL Ambassadors Day 2025
Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Microscopy CORE Lab at Maastricht University’s Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences is hosting a special jubilee edition of its Ambassadors Day, titled "Microscopy Without Borders: Fostering Collaboration Across Disciplines".
The event will officially open at 10:00 with a welcome address by Annemie Schols, Dean of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences. The programme features various speakers, including keynote speakers Lucy Collinson, Head of the Electron Microscopy Science Technology Platform at The Francis Crick Institute (London), and Peter Friedl, Professor at Radboud University (Nijmegen).
Coffee and lunch are included, as well as drinks and bites after the closure.

Discover developments and collaboration in Advanced Microscopy
Join us to explore inspiring projects and innovations from the UM and MUMC+ community. Everyone interested in microscopy and its exciting applications—students, researchers, technicians, teachers, professors—is warmly invited!
Organisation
The Microscopy CORE Lab (MCL)
The MCL provides the classical and most recent advanced light and electron microscopy imaging techniques, including super-resolution and multiphoton optical microscopy, electron tomography, single particle analysis, correlative light and electron microscopy, focused ion beam and scanning electron microscopy (FIB-SEM) and spinning disk light microscopy at room temperature and cryo-conditions.
Invited speakers:
There will be several experienced users of the MCL, who will explain the work they did together with us in the last few years and how they can project the future of their research thanks to our research platform. With the selection of speakers, we took into account diversity regarding subject, affiliation, discipline and microscopy techniques used.
