Désirée Schumacher (D.A.T.)

Desiree is a lecturer in the Department of Organization and Strategy at Maastricht University School of Business and Economics. She obtained her PhD with a dissertation on the influence of job insecurity on employee wellbeing and performance during organizational changes. After finishing her PhD at Maastricht University, she worked several years as a statistical researcher at the Central Bureau for Statistics in the Netherlands. She worked on cross-functional projects ranging from regional to national scale.

 

Her research interests are in a variety of topics revolving around organizational changes, uncertainty/job insecurity, employee well-being and performance. Her research has appeared in for example Human Resource Management and International Journal of Human Resource Management.

 

Desiree has taught a variety of Organisation and Strategy courses, such as Management of Organizations, Crisis Management, Comparative Management, Global Business and Strategy. She has also supervised theses (BSc and MSc) and taught various skills such as Communication and Leadership, and Management Game.
