Carolina Cicati (C.)
Carolina Cicati is a teaching fellow at Maastricht Institute for Legal Education. She completed European Law School LLB at Maastricht University, and International and European Tax Law LLM, specialising in Customs and International Supply Chain Taxation, at Maastricht University.
Carolina is a teacher in the Department of Private Law, Maastricht University. She combines her teaching role with PhD research on legal education. The topic of research is ‘The good jurist: Mapping the core attributes of a good jurist and the educational practices that stimulate their development', under the supervision of Dr Nicole Kornet, Prof Dr Sjoerd Claessens, and Dr Therese Grohnert.
The aim of her PhD research project is to identify the core professional attributes jurists develop during the undergraduate law degree, in particular uncovering the more hidden aspects of legal education, the nature of the community a novice student is being introduced into, and the best educational practices that contribute to the enculturation of students into the community of jurists.
Carolina is also a Member of the Educational Programme Committee for Fiscal Law (2024-2026) and European Law School (2022-2024); and she is a Coordinator and mentor of PREMIUM at Faculty of Law.
