It’s happened every May and June for the last 15 years. Groups of 60 pupils—Year 7 students from primary schools around the region—filing into UM lecture halls to get acquainted with academia.
This year, the total number of students at Maastricht University will probably still increase slightly to more than 23,000. Due to an estimated 3% decrease in the number of new students, this growth will level off.
In the coming years, the Venlo municipality and Maastricht University (UM) will make additional investments in the city's academic research and education.
