UM encourages its employees and students to exercise together
For example, by participating in running events. Maastricht University then tries to reach agreements with the relevant organisation regarding discounts on entry fees. Plus, of course, anyone who wants to take part in a running event on behalf of UM will be eligible for a nice UM running shirt at a substantial discount.

Zweit veur Leid - Sunday 25 January 2026
The 30th anniversary edition of ZWEIT VEUR LEID is going to be a special running party.
As in previous years, Maastricht University is supporting the charity.
This means that all UM students and UM staff can participate in this event.
More information about the route, distances, and registration will follow shortly.
UM running shirt
Do you - like many colleagues - want to run recognisably together in our beautiful UM running shirt? Then contact UM SPORTS to pick up your own running shirt. This shirt normally costs €22.50, but participants in these running events enjoy a €10.00 discount and pay only €12.50.
