The percentage of respondents who took preventive measures varied from 6% for the use of insect repellent to 37% for wearing protective clothing. Significantly more self-checks for ticks were per- formed by people who had experienced a tick bite themselves, had more know- ledge or a moderate to severe wariness of ticks and LD.
