- Abstract_Riedel.pdf (75.82 KB, PDF)… and keep in consideration a set of alternative probabilistic laws. We study the case where the typical consumer in the economy is ambiguity-averse with smooth ambiguity preferences and the set of priors P is point identified, i.e., the true law p can be recovered empirically from observed events. Differently from the literature, we allow for the case where the aggregate risk is ambiguous and agents are heterogeneously ambiguity averse. Our analysis addresses, in particular, the full range of …
- lei_sophie_1.pdf (4.4 KB, PDF)… NACCA On the artist's side: bridging the gap between creation and conservation Installations are a kind of contemporary works that constantly adapts to their exhibition context. Indeed, artists must be able to create experiences where the public can immerse themselves in them, to the point of being an integral part of the work itself. This means that the same work cannot be reinstalled in different places without changing, because the artist must always take into account the characteristics of the space but also the change in time when the artist adapts it, that is the work needs to be adapted to the new time. This peculiarity is exacerbated by the simple fact that, like performances, installations only last the time of their exhibition. Does this mean that the subsequent installations of a work would only be pale copies of an original, which was first …
- de_haan_panda.pdf (4.78 KB, PDF)… Panda de Haan, Early Stage Researcher, NACCA Exposure as a Strategy: The frequent exhibition model Exhibition can be the exposure an artwork requires to stay relevant, and to be deemed of importance to preserve. For this reason, conservation of contemporary art demands for the recognition of the artwork besides the attention to and care for to the physical object. The exhibition is a potent moment in the trajectory of an artwork to aid conservation. This research project assesses how exhibition contributes to the conservation of the artwork, through the evaluation of three exhibition models; the generative exhibition, the applied research exhibition and the frequent exhibition model. This paper …
- noronha.pdf (4.31 KB, PDF)… Marina Valle Noronha, Aalto University No Longer Artwork A contemporary notion of collecting contradicts with the traditional idea that artworks have to be preserved for eternity. This conceptual paper presents a curatorial perspective on the subject and speculate on a time - not far from now - where artworks no longer exist and museums have to rethink their current engagement with artworks. The alarming current situation that museums face in terms of finance and storage opens up the ground for a new approach to conservation and curating, which takes into account that the act of collecting cannot be understood primarily as accumulation. But for that is needed a paradigm shift on how we think of and engage with changing objects. The overall goal of this paper to propose through curating ways of engaging with artworks/cultural heritage that have been - for different reasons - lost. This paper introduces other ways of thinking through art objects with emphasis on their lifespan, what constitutes …
