That is, given a certain financial product, what “back-of the-envelop” mathematical models do normal people apply when they try to value a financial product (e.g. an annuity) to get an idea about of the product is worth the price. The results of such a study are highly relevant as understanding decision making processes and valuation heuristics is key to design … to improve consumer financial decision making (and a test of an idea could be part of the thesis).
