June 8, 2022, Maastricht University has switched to the SAP Ariba Network, in order to streamline and automate our 'Purchase to Pay processes'. The transition to a new system fundamentally changes the traditional way of doing business with UM. On this page you will find information about this transformation and some tools to answer your questions. This portal will be regularly updated and provided with new information.

A new, digital way of working together

We value our relationship with our suppliers and want to make it easy to do business with Maastricht University. We are increasingly automating and streamlining our 'Purchase to Pay' processes to achieve supply chain efficiency and ensure timely payment of invoices.SAP Ariba is a Cloud-based procurement system with a transaction platform called Ariba Network. From June 8, 2022, this network is our transaction platform for exchanging digital business documents with our suppliers (including purchase orders, order confirmations and invoices). This system also allows our users to place orders through catalogs in an automated and user-friendly way.

Several benefits

With this new system, we are investing in our relationships with our suppliers, the new cloud-based sytem will make it easier to do business with UM.

  • Purchase orders and invoices are managed in a efficient, digital manner.
  • Correct and timely payments to suppliers.
  • Reduced operational costs for suppliers, less time spent troubleshooting and less paper consumption.
  • Suppliers can view the payment status of invoices directly using the Ariba Network or can choose to receive an email notification of invoice status.
